We’re on a mission to connect our youth with technology!

The Computer Club is an after school program for all students from 5 to 17 years old. Students can join us in the computer lab at the Northside Youth And Senior Service Center every weekday from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Connecting Black Youth with Technology

Technology opens the door to a wealth of opportunity and knowledge. It’s imperative that agencies improve access to technology for youth in communities of color. Although our children have shown an increasing interest in technology, the fact remains that many lack basic computing skills and live in households with no working computers or internet service.

The pandemic and period that follows has many educators and youth agencies sounding the alarm calling for increased resources to improve access to technology and digital learning.

Through our Computer Club and computer lab, we’re working to close the gap and connect local youth with the technology and resources they need to get ahead and achieve their academic and life goals.

Computer Club Activities

The Computer Club provides youth with a safe and fun learning environment. It allows them to access the internet for learning and developmental purposes, along with offering other educational and fun activities.

Examples of the benefits and activities include:

  • Supervised access to computers, internet and other technology
  • Homework help
  • School supplies
  • Field trips
  • Nutritious snacks

The Computer Club is supervised by caring adults and provides children with a safe place to go, learn and have fun after school lets out.
