Our youth programs work to serve the needs of youth in our community at any given time. Over the years, programming has shifted to best support the most forefront challenges they experience. We currently offer three youth programs.
Kids love summer camp! Each summer after school lets out for the year, we offer a fun and educational camp for all children and teens aged 5-17 in St. Louis. It’s a chance for them to explore, make friends, and enjoy both recreational and educational activities.
Peabody After School Program
The Striving to Achieve Results (STAR) after school program at Peabody Elementary School provides students with fun, educational activities that support, but don’t repeat, what they learn in the classroom. The program is only available to students at Peabody Elementary School and takes place from 3:00 – 6:00 pm each school day.
All students between the ages of 5 and 17 are welcome at our Computer Club. The after school program takes place at our computer lab in the Center every weekday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Students get supervised access to the internet and homework help, plus they can enjoy fun, educational activities.
A Safety Net for Youth
Along with each of these programs, we work to connect children, teens and their families with other resources in the community. Northside Youth and Senior Service Center supports access to education, counseling services and other health services to those who need them. We serve as a safety net to ensure these needs do not go unnoticed in low-income neighborhoods in St. Louis.
All of our programs also offer healthy snacks and meals to supplement the nutritional needs of growing kids.
