In order to retain their independence for longer, many St. Louis seniors need a little help getting around the city. The Northside Youth and Senior Service Center’s Transportation Program provides safe and dependable transportation for elderly residents of the City of St. Louis.
We offer a friendly, reliable, door-to-door transit service to seniors aged 60 years and older, as well as to people with disabilities (18-59 years) living in the city of St. Louis.
Over 90% of trips are for medical visits.
While we currently do not have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, our drivers are able to assist those who need help getting in or out of the vehicle. We have plans for adding one to our service in 2021. The new vehicle will be both accessible and electric to reduce our environmental impact. Watch our blog for upcoming news and other program updates.
Where Can We Take You?
We only provide transportation within the St. Louis City limits. Seniors and people with disabilities can catch a ride with us for any of the following reasons:
- Non-emergency medical or doctors visits
- Shopping trips
- Personal, group and social activities
- Congregate meals and activities at the Center
The hours of operation for our ride service are 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM every Monday through Friday.
