On May 28, the Senior Fund of St. Louis City hosted its annual Partner Recognition and Awards Celebration, bringing together partners to reflect upon the past year of achievement. The event gave participants a moment to celebrate collaboration, resilience, and the devoted service of organizations serving older adults throughout the city.

Senior Fund Board Member Bill Seidhoff noted that the event also coincided with the 10 year anniversary of St. Louis City voters approving the senior services levy in November of 2016 – since then, the Senior Fund has invested more than $14 million in community services for older adults, including $2.4 million in the current year.

Northside staff were thrilled to celebrate our Director of Senior Programs, Shana Watson, as the Senior Fund named her its 2026 Professional in Aging awardee! Northside’s Executive Director, Leon Threat, introduced Shana by noting that,

“Serving older adults is not just a program; it is a promise that Shana helps carry every day. She leads with both heart and discipline. She understands that behind every route, every meal, every ride, and every phone call is a person who deserves to feel seen, respected, and supported. Her work reflects exactly what the St. Louis Senior Fund stands for: helping older adults remain healthy, engaged, and supported in their homes and communities.”
